Harrison Butker Endorses Donald Trump, Cites One ‘Crucial’ Issue

Harrison Butker

Harrison Butker, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Pro Bowl kicker, has made his stance clear ahead of the 2024 election, publicly endorsing President Donald Trump. Appearing on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” alongside Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, Butker emphasized that his decision boiled down to a single defining issue: the protection of unborn life.

“I’m supporting the president who’s going to be the most pro-life, and that’s Donald Trump,” Butker told host Laura Ingraham. Seated next to Senator Hawley, whom he also endorsed, Butker reiterated that the issue of abortion is paramount to him. “We need to fight for the most vulnerable—the unborn. This is the priority.”

Butker further emphasized that men of faith should vote for candidates who uphold traditional values, calling for voters to be “prayerful men that put God first” in their political decisions. According to Butker, President Trump’s strong stance on pro-life policies makes him the best choice for the future of America.

This high-profile endorsement comes as no surprise, given Butker’s outspoken nature on social issues. Earlier this year, he sparked controversy with a commencement address at Benedictine College, where he criticized Covid lockdowns, the mainstream media, and liberal cultural movements like Pride Month. In the speech, he also encouraged women to embrace the roles of wives and mothers, calling it a “beautiful role” that should be celebrated.

Despite the backlash, Butker remained unapologetic. “I was trying to speak life to so many women who have dedicated themselves to raising children. It’s a role that should never be diminished,” he told Ingraham.

While other NFL stars like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have stayed quiet on political matters, their partners have taken opposite sides of the political spectrum. Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, liked a post from Trump’s campaign, while Kelce’s girlfriend, pop icon Taylor Swift, has thrown her support behind Democratic candidates.

Butker’s endorsement adds yet another layer of intrigue to the heated political landscape as Election Day approaches, underscoring the importance of pro-life values to many voters in key battleground states.
